Ihu Special Economic Zone presents its current progress of the project to foreign SEZ experts, government associates and more than 300 PNG delegates.
During the three day (May 7th – 9th) Special Economic Zone Summit at Stanley in Port Moresby, the ISEZ project office had the opportunity to present its current status of the project to the well-respected audience.
Presenting the current updates and brief history about the project was ISEZ PR & Business Development Team Leader Mrs. Serena Kengemar.
Mrs. Kengemar has been along- side Managing Director Peter Kengemar ever since the project idea came about, she has seen it all in terms of ISEZ progress over the years.
In her presentation she spoke about the different phases of the project, explained the designs on the logo, talked about the advantages of the location for the project area in terms of flight routes connecting to all other provinces, which makes accessibility to goods and services and costing lower, the rich resources in Gulf province that will generate income for the province, the Community Liaison Officers (CLOs) who were being recruited and currently doing ISEZ ground work in the project area in Ihu, and all the supportive government associates and local leaders who have supported along the journey and still doing so.
The presentation was very interesting to the audience because ISEZ is a pioneer SEZ success project that is actually making progress instead of failing like other SEZ projects in PNG in the past, and it is looking promising to continue to grow.
After the successful presentation, ISEZ went on signing MOUs with five of the well known development companies in the country, this is a clear statement that ISEZ is striving forward for the betterment of Gulf people and also for the rest of Papua New Guinea.
