ISEZ Recruits 10 Local Men to be Eyes and Ears on the Ground

Ten local men has been recruited to work as Community Liaison Officers for ISEZ in and around the project development area.

With the scale of the project as big as this, ISEZ has recruited 10 men (Community Liaison Officers) from Ihu LLG to be the eyes on the ground for any ISEZ related activities happening in Ihu going forward.


The CLO’s were invited from their different villages in Ihu to the ISEZ office in Port Moresby to undergo a two-week (Feb 6th – 23rd) induction program to better familiarize them with the details of the project, and also equipped them with the necessities for their work on the ground.


The CLOs went through several sessions which were presented by different ISEZ staff members throughout the two-week period, the ISEZ staff explained to them the important aspects and details of the project happening in their district.


The ISEZ administration team is comprised of key personnel from different sections of the ISEZ project planning. The team members include, a technical manager, who is in charge of any technical planning for the project, a SME team leader, who is in charge of SME related projects and programs in Ihu, Land Mobilization team leader, who is in charge of land related arrangements, negotiations, and other land business in Ihu, and the overall boss, the Managing Director (MD), who dictates the whole planning of the project.  


Other administration members included are, PR & Business Development team leader, who manager’s all administration sections, ICT Officer, who does all the technical IT related work in the office, Senior Accountant, who controls all the finances, and also other staff members who works under these senior staff members.

All senior staff members were individually scheduled to induct the CLOs, which they informed and updated the CLOs with the much needed information they need, so they have a fair understanding of the project, and also feel that they are part of this project planning journey.


To officially be part of the ISEZ team, the ten CLOs have signed contracts to agree to work with ISEZ. Bank accounts were also opened after creating there ISEZ ID Cards for the CLOs, for their fortnight salaries. 


With successfully completing the induction program throughout the two weeks, the CLOs and ISEZ team met with Kikori Member, Soroi Eoe, (Friday, Feb 17th) for lunch and few important points about the development of their district were discussed before the CLOs departed back to Ihu.
